Introduction
Synthesized receivers get rid of the inconvenience of using a crystal. Receivers with a crystal still use the technology of 1970��s where the user has to change the crystal to switch to a different frequency. Users are either stuck to one frequency or have to bring more (expensive) crystals to flying field. In addition, every time the crystal is change there is a chance of damaging the receiver.
With a synthesized receiver, all you need to do is push the button to switch to any channel you are transmitting at.
With Corona��s technology in developing and manufacturing of R/C products, the RP8D1 8CH Dual conversion receiver become the smallest in the world. But do not only focus on its small size. Its high performance will also surprise you!

You can switch the frequency freely with the RP8D1 8ch dual conversion synthesized receiver.

This series is consists mainly of robots with mechanical and unique movement realized via motor. Colored clear body and clear gearbox enable demonstration of mechanical functions. Tools are supplied and no cement is required for easy assembly. Rubber tubing allows easy wiring. The see-through look, itself makes this model quite the cool-looking desk ornaments. How To Safely Use, Charge, and Discharge Lithium Polymer (Lipo) Batteries
Lithium polymer batteries are great for RC aircraft, but they have an explosive chemistry that must be treated with caution.
Prevent this from happening to your batteries by following these tips:
Store Li-polymer batteries in a flame proof LipoSack while charging. - Charging your lithium polymer batteries in a flame proof LipoSack can contain a fire should it occur. It could mean the difference between a minor clean up and the loss of your house or car. Also make sure that the storage area is well ventilated.
Read the manual – The importance of reading your battery and chargers manual cannot be emphasized enough. The battery manual will state the proper charging rates and times.
Use common sense – Don’t charge batteries unsupervised. Even when you do everything right, incidents can occur. Also, do not charge lithium polymer batteries in your car. A flame out can be disasterous if it occurs inside a vehicle.
Use the right battery charger – Charging a lipo battery with a charger designed for other batteries will cause problems, and will probably result in a fire.
Charge lithium polymer batteries on a fire proof surface – It’s really important to charge lithium polymer batteries on a flame proof surface such as concrete. In the event of a fire, a fire proof charging surface will stop it from spreading, or at least slow it down significantly.
Keep a fire extinguisher, or bucket of sand near the charging area – If a fire does occur, you don’t want to be running around looking for something to put it out with. Water will not help put out a lipo fire. Being a conductor, it will cause a short circuit and could even make the fire worse.
Don’t charge lithium polymer batteries near flammable substances – Lithium polymer batteries are flammable enough as it is. Don’t make the problem worse by storing flammable substances near charging batteries.
Check lithium polymer batteries for swelling prior to charging and each use – A puffed battery is unstable, and can be in danger of exploding. If you see a puffed battery, immediately disconnect it from the charger or aircraft and put it in a bucket of water. Dissolve a few tablespoons of salt in the water to aid conductivity, and leave the battery in the bucked for about 4 days. The salt water depletes any power remaining in the battery by creating a short, and it can’t catch fire while underwater. After the four days are up, take the battery out and cut off the connectors (which may come in handy for other projects). You can then dispose of the battery in the trash. The battery no longer contains toxic metals, won’t harm the environment, and by using the salt water you’ve guaranteed that it won’t catch fire. This should be done as soon as you see a puffed battery. You can’t salvage a puffed battery, the best you can do is to dispose of it safely.
Never charge a lithium polymer battery in a model – If you charge a lipo battery in your RC airplane or helicopter, you are risking the total loss of your model. Only charge lithium polymer batteries on a flame proof surface, in a LipoSack.
Make sure the charging leads are connected properly – Connecting positive to negative and negative to positive can cause a major fire.
Don’t overcharge batteries – By their very chemistry, lithium polymer batteries cannot be discharged to a potential of less than 3 volts without damage. For the same reason, don’t charge them to over 4.2 volts. This means that you have to land your rc aircraft before the motors stop turning. Some aircraft come equipped with a voltage cut-off, others do not. If you don’t have a voltage cut-off, then land as soon as you sense the propeller or rotors slowing down.
Double check that the charger settings are correct – Lithium polymer battery chargers require you to set the battery configuration. Ensure that this configuration matches the battery you’re charging, or else your lipo could get overcharged and explode. Some chargers automatically sense the battery configuration, but make sure that the setting is correct regardless. They have been known to be wrong on occasion.
Balance lipo batteries – Lithium polymer batteries have balance connectors, designed to make sure that each cell in the pack has the same charge. If this isn’t the case, some cells can become overcharged and explode.
Never let the battery leads touch – If the battery terminals touch each other, the battery will short circuit and, in most cases, be destroyed. If this happens and you get a puffed battery, dispose of it by following tip 9 above.
Don’t ever store / charge lithium polymer batteries in your car – Unless you hate your car. Batteries can and do explode, and if this happens inside a vehicle the result is usually catastrophic. On a hot day, temperatures can rise inside the car and cause stored packs to rupture.
In the event of a crash, remove the battery and supervise it for at least 4 hours – A crashed plane’s battery can appear fine, but can have an internal short circuit. This short circuit can cause an explosion, even hours after the crash occurred. A LipoSack is a great place to keep a battery that’s been in a crash. If enough time elapses and nothing happens, then your battery is probably fine. If you see puffing, dispose of it immediately following the instructions in tip 9 above.

I love brushless anything.

So the chance to have a brushless motor in my crawler at an excellent price was too good to pass up!!! US$86 posted is excellent as far as i'm concerned.

Installation in my AX10 was as easy as can be, the most time consuming part was waiting for my soldering iron to get hot enough to put deans connectors on...

The ESC fits in any small space, and the motor is standard 540 size.

Power it up and it works just like it should, enough torque to push my Scorpion over obstacles i put in its way. And programmable with the supplies card.

The Li-polymer differentiates itself from other battery systems in the type of electrolyte used. The original design, dating back to the 1970s, uses a dry solid polymer electrolyte only. This electrolyte resembles a plastic-like film that does not conduct electricity but allows an exchange of ions (electrically charged atoms or groups of atoms). The polymer electrolyte replaces the traditional porous separator, which is soaked with electrolyte.
The dry polymer design offers simplifications with respect to fabrication, ruggedness, safety and thin-profile geometry. There is no danger of flammability because no liquid or gelled electrolyte is used.
With a cell thickness measuring as little as one millimeter (0.039 inches), equipment designers are left to their own imagination in terms of form, shape and size. It is possible to create designs which form part of a protective housing, are in the shape of a mat that can be rolled up, or are even embedded into a carrying case or piece of clothing. Such innovative batteries are still a few years away, especially for the commercial market.

Unfortunately, the dry Li-polymer suffers from poor conductivity. Internal resistance is too high and cannot deliver the current bursts needed for modern communication devices and spinning up the hard drives of mobile computing equipment. Although heating the cell to 60°C (140°F) and higher increases the conductivity to acceptable levels, this requirement is unsuitable in commercial applications.
Research is continuing to develop a dry solid Li-polymer battery that performs at room temperature. A dry solid Li-polymer version is expected to be commercially available by 2005. It is expected to be very stable; would run 1000 full cycles and would have higher energy densities than today’s Li-ion battery.
In the meantime, some Li-polymers are used as standby batteries in hot climates. One manufacturer has added heating elements that keeps the battery in the conductive temperature range at all times. Such a battery performs well for the application intended because high ambient temperatures do not affect the service life of this battery in the same way it does the VRLA, for example.
To make a small Li-polymer battery conductive, some gelled electrolyte has been added. Most of the commercial Li-polymer batteries used today for mobile phones are a hybrid and contain gelled electrolyte. The correct term for this system is ‘Lithium Ion Polymer’. For promotional reasons, most battery manufacturers mark the battery simply as Li-polymer. Since the hybrid lithium polymer is the only functioning polymer battery for portable use today, we will focus on this chemistry
With gelled electrolyte added, what then is the difference between Li-ion and Li-ion polymer? Although the characteristics and performance of the two systems are very similar, the Li-ion polymer is unique in that it uses a solid electrolyte, replacing the porous separator. The gelled electrolyte is simply added to enhance ion conductivity.
Technical difficulties and delays in volume manufacturing have deferred the introduction of the Li-ion polymer battery. This postponement, as some critics argue, is due to ‘cashing in’ on the Li-ion battery. Manufacturers have invested heavily in research, development and equipment to mass-produce the Li-ion. Now businesses and shareholders want to see a return on their investment.
In addition, the promised superiority of the Li-ion polymer has not yet been realized. No improvements in capacity gains have been achieved — in fact, the capacity is slightly less than that of the standard Li-ion battery. For the present, there is no cost advantage in using the Li-ion polymer battery. The thin profile has, however, compelled mobile phone manufacturers to use this promising technology for their new generation handsets. One of the advantages of the Li-ion polymer, however, is simpler packaging because the electrodes can easily be stacked. Foil packaging, similar to that used in the food industry, is being used. No defined norm in cell size has been established by the industry.
Advantages and Limitations of Li-ion Polymer Batteries
Advantages
Very low profile — batteries that resemble the profile of a credit card are feasible.
Flexible form factor — manufacturers are not bound by standard cell formats. With high volume, any reasonable size can be produced economically.
Light weight – gelled rather than liquid electrolytes enable simplified packaging, in some cases eliminating the metal shell.
Improved safety — more resistant to overcharge; less chance for electrolyte leakage.
Limitations
Lower energy density and decreased cycle count compared to Li-ion — potential for improvements exist.

Question: Does CopterX Helicopter spare parts compatible to Align 450 spare parts?
In short, my personal experience has been excellent. Plug and play and the quality is just as good as the align unit.

I fly CopterX V2 tails on both my helis and they rock.when and if I ever trash my heads they will be replaced with Copterx as well.

i also have the copter x head and tail assembly on my trex 450 it rocks. so smooth. it came with ball link arms that go to the servo arm. i popped them off (lazy) stuck in the copter x and checked the screws for tight (all were very tight) and flew. very smooth.night and day to my sa head. i was worried as well if i shouldn't have spent money not knowing if quality was the same. but i'm impressed. i've got a new se coming with metal head and i'll compare and let you know if parts will swap around. should be here in a day or so.

CopterX is fully compatible with Align 450 parts. All the parts on the Copter X is compatible with the SE the Copter 450AE is no different from the 450SE and is compatible with the TREX450SE and SA. From the boom parts head, tail, belt. All parts are the same. Aluminum of CopterX 450AE is okay. But the material is too soft. For the carbon frame of CopterX 450SE is much better. If you want to land quickly, it will stand the hard landing.

Our Answer is CopterX Helicopter and Trex Align is 100% same...

It is because Trex Align is produced in China now, and the factory may sell the toolings (the frame, machine) to other reseller, therefore, you guy can enjoy a cheaper version of Align Trex.

Many person asking me about the different between Align Trex and CopterX Helicopter.
There are loads of these advertised on Ebay saying that all Trex 450SE parts will fit! Here is a link to one on Ebay

Copterx is 100% compatiable to Align Trex Parts, The fact that Trex SE parts will fit on the CopterX does NOT mean that the CopterX is the same as a Trex. It just means the parts have the same dimensions, but it doesn't mean they're of the same quality; i.e. same metals, same manufacturing tolerances, etc. compared to Align parts. I'm not saying the CopterX isn't as good either since I don't know; just pointing out that "parts compatible" doesn't mean it's the same heli

Copterx NOT Equaly to Align Trex.
all the parts are compatible but they manufacture differently. Quality is different too Align as always is said to have better quality parts and Copter X is a low grade copy. I guess its up to the users to decide and dependent on their budget.

But, is it worth to buy a CopterX Helicopter?
One flyer answered:
ok guys, i have flown many trex se's, and after purchasing my copterx a month ago and doing some serious 3d with it, go for the copterx. As far as the quality of the aluminum, its the SAME QUALITY. I know these helis, and this is built well. The only thing that i have found to be cheaper on the copter x as of now, is the se has ball bearings on both sides of the feathering shaft, were as the copterx has brass bushings. A cheap fix that is recomended. I have had a few other trex pilots fly my copterx and overall impression is excelent. If you want to save some coin, go for the copterx, but please, get the se version. You will be kicking yourself in the but latter if you don't. AS far as setup, just go to a club and find some one help you assemble. A pro could through this thing together in about an hour. You will need to learn some time, so why not now? Overall, great heli. Don't go with the rtf version, comes with cheap servo's/gyro. Get a good digital tail servo, some nice hitecs for your swash, and a 401 as your gyro. Especially if your new, a good gyro with help you in your training.

How to use the Flyermate 3 in 1 Voltage Dispenser?

Charging a lipolymer battery is very time consuming and need a lot of attention.
That's why Flyermate designs the Voltage Dispenser for major charger among the RC industry to facilitate lipo charging process in a smart way.

If you want to shorten your charging time with a promising small device, surely at a very fair price, the Flyermate 3 in 1 Voltage Dispenser is your choice.

Let's start the set up step by step.

First, you need a digital charger which can be brought from http://www.swanghobby.com/ with free shipping worldwide.

The Flyermate 3 in 1 Voltage Dispenser does need a little bit calculation before we go.

One cell of Li-polymer battery is 3.7v

Therefore, a 7.4v battery is 2cells, and 11.1v is 3 cells and so on.

This 3 in 1 Voltage Dispenser support simultaneously charging 3 x 2cell lipolymers (22.2v) , 2 x 3cell (22.2v) lipolymers and 2 x 2 cells lipolymers (14.8v).

You have to determine the TOTAL voltage of your lipolymer batteries that you are going to charge in a same time. That's just two case, 22.2v or 14.8v.

Never connect ANY combination other than the 3 combination mentioned above. It will cause damage to your charger.

Secondly, connect the Flyermate 3 in 1 Voltage Dispenser correctly into the charger and batteries.

The connection for 3 x 2 cells (22.2v) and 2 x 3 cells (22.2v) setting.

Connect the batteries on the PCB broad with the balancing plug. This picture shows the connection of 2 x 3 cells. Connect the output cable with a T Plug back to your charger output.

Also connect to your charger's balancing output.

NOTE, leave the output cable next to the 2 x 2 cells NOT connected.
This cable is work for 2 x 2 cells case only.

After that, set the output AMP and output voltage to be 22.2v in charger.

Success! The digital charger shows the balancing status for the 6 cells!!
You are now charging two 3 cells lipolymer at the same time!! simultaneously

The connection for 2 x 2 cells (14.8v ) setting.
Now, connect 2 x 2 cells li-polymer on the PCB, and connect the cable next to the 2 x 2cell port to the charger's output plug. Leave the cable next to 2 x 3 cell not connected.
The setting is 14.8v as the output voltage, you can see that my digital charger showing totally 4 cells 's voltage status!! Have fun!

Error Message
If your connection of setting is wrong, you will get a error message from the charger, correct it and make it works!

Connection Break: Deal with it, you have to connect the batteries correctly, there are only

3 combination of connection. If you want to charge 1 battery, please remove the dispenser.

Over Voltage Deal with it, you have to set the output voltage correctly.

there are only two case, 22.2v (6S), remember it is for total 6cell in your setting. 2x 3 or 3 x 2

Or 14.8v (4S) , 2 x 2 only.
